Goal Setting for 2025 – Let’s Make It Work

GoalsThumbnailDec24

Hi, it’s Debbie here. I want to talk to you about goal setting for 2025. Did you know that by 19th January, about 75% of people have already let go of their New Year’s resolutions? By mid-February, only a small percentage are still sticking to them. It’s not because they aren’t trying hard enough – it’s often because they haven’t found the right way to approach their goals.

This year, I’d love to help you take a new perspective on your aspirations, whether they’re related to health, wealth, or personal growth. Let’s set goals that mean something to you and give you the tools to carry them through the whole year.

Let’s set goals that mean something to you and give you the tools to carry them through the whole year.

Why Resolutions Often Slip Away

When we set resolutions, they can sometimes feel a bit abstract. For instance, saying, “I want to be healthier in 2025” sounds fantastic, although this may seem a bit too broad a goal. What does “healthier” mean to you? Without a clear vision or plan, it’s easy for your enthusiasm to fade.

Rather than just aiming for the big picture, breaking things into manageable steps helps. Small, consistent actions create a path to success, and knowing why you want to achieve something keeps you motivated.

A New Way to Look at Goal Setting

Let’s make this year different. Here are a few ideas to help you succeed:

  1. Find Your Why: Think deeply about why a goal matters to you. What will it bring to your life? How will it make you feel once you’ve achieved it? That emotional connection is what makes all the difference and can set you up for success from the very beginning.

  2. Start Small and Build Momentum: Huge goals can feel very overwhelming. Breaking them into smaller, bite-sized pieces allows you to feel accomplished along the way. This helps our internal motivator so as we achieve these smaller goals, it actually feels like we can and will achieve the much bigger goal itself.

  3. Focus on Daily Habits: Instead of chasing a specific outcome, think about the habits that will lead you there. For instance, rather than saying, “I’ll lose weight,” focus on actions like “I’m going to eat more healthy at lunchtime” or “I’m going to go for a walk for 15 minutes every lunchtime.”
